About Our Coalition
Who we are
The Marion County Health and Resource Coalition is a non-partisan, community-based organization focused on improving public health and well-being in Marion County, Texas. It brings together local stakeholders, such as healthcare providers, social service agencies, community groups, and government entities, to collaborate on addressing health issues and resource needs in the community. The coalition works on initiatives like promoting healthy lifestyles, increasing access to healthcare, and addressing social determinants of health, such as housing, education, and economic stability. The goal is to create a healthier and more resilient community through collaboration and resource sharing. Our mission is to cultivate a healthier and more resilient Marion County by fostering collaboration among community partners, empowering individuals and families with access to essential resources and promoting equitable health outcomes for all residents.

1st Annual Freedom Walk and Health Fair

The 1st MCHARC Annual Freedom Walk is an opportunity to commemorate the day of emancipation and to honor the past by celebrating unity and inspire hope for a brighter future. We invite you to show up to make this event a success, we're ready to take it to the next level. Let's build something extraordinary together!

Time: 9am - 1 pm
Location: Walk starts at Jefferson High School at 9:00 am and goes down Martin Luther King Dr. to the Jefferson Primary School at 312 W Broadway St. , Jefferson, Texas 75657
Health Fair will then be held at the Primary School until 1:00
This Event is perfect for everyone - whether you're a casual walker or simply looking to enjoy the health fair activities. All fitness levels are encouraged to participate!
Planned Activities include:
- A short lively walk from Jefferson High School to Jefferson Primary School.
- A Health Fair, offering resources and information to boost your well-being.
- Fitness tips and demos
- Opportunities to connect with others who share a passion for health and community
Proceeds from this event directly support our "Healthy Communities" initiatives, funding programs like our Fitness Fun Days, weekly Senior Fitness, Hip-Hop Aerobics, Line Dancing classes and more. By Joining us, you're not just having fun - you're making a difference!
